The Koa Mudroom is built into a very tight space. Two narrow coat closets, with storage above, flank a small bench with cubbies below. The bench seat is a solid slab of Hawaiian koa personally selected by the homeowner. To really make the koa stand out and bring out its chatoyance, the bench seat was French polished, a two hundred year old finishing technique.
