A blank wall in the living room of a contemporary townhouse was transformed into this built-in fireplace and shelves. Working closely with the clients, the designed reflects the need for storage, functionality, display, and aesthetics.
The fireplace surround is tile (done in-house) and is topped off by a mantle of solid dark walnut. To accent the items displayed on the shelves, we suggested built-in LED lighting. Also, as a nod to the clients’ wonderful cat, a cat shelf was added instead of a drawer below.
