This living room bookcase and cabinet is situated in a prominent corner of a young couple’s Baltimore row home. Seeking storage solutions for both books and collectibles, Graphite Woodworking designed this wraparound bookcase to fit in the corner of the room.
The bookcase is constructed out of solid red oak and red oak veneer with the curve achieved through bending lauan plywood on a structural support lattice. Collaborating with a CNC partner, the plywood shelves and lattice pieces were cut from a 3D model to ensure a perfect fit.
Solid red oak, red oak veneer plywood, red oak veneer on bending lauan plywood, structural plywood, stain, clear glacquer, cabinet hardware. Baltimore, Maryland. July 2022.
